Obama’s Home in Honolulu as a Newborn

If you’ve been keeping up with the news, you may have heard about the “Birther Movement,” which is composed of theorists who claim that President Barack Obama was not born in America, but in Kenya and that the birth certificate he furnished is fake.
When this issue was first raised last year, FactCheck.org did extensive research to find the truth about Obama’s birth certificate. The FactCheck.org research team had a chance to “spend some time with the certificate,” and took photos of Obama’s birth certificate, and published a clip of Obama’s birth announcement from the Honolulu Advertiser. FactCheck.org concluded “…he was born in the U.S. as he has always said.”
Taking information from the birth certificate and the newspaper birth announcement, it is likely that a few days after Barack Obama was born on Aug. 4, 1961, at 7:24 PM to parents Barack Hussein Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham (Stanley?) he arrived home to 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy, Honolulu, HI (photo above). Looking at it from our Bird’s Eye View map of Obama’s house, it sits right on Kalanianaole Highway (Hwy 72), which is a major six-lane highway that extends out to Makapuu Point, the eastern-most point of Oahu.
In checking the Home Q&A on Obama’s home there is a question posed in March by stevor, asking who owned this home in 1961. Honolulu real estate agent John F. Kenrick responds that he can assist, depending on what it will be used for. It is possible the Obama’s owned the home at 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy, or they may have just been renting. Who knows?
