A great example of a mud room

An excellent example of an auxilary entry

Here’s what you can do with an auxiliary entry.  This is the entry that the family uses all the time.  Kid’s come in, take off their shoes, drop off their coats and backpacks.  You might put it in between the garage and the kitchen, maybe there is a door to the laundry room where dirty sports clothes can be left before emerging into a clean home.  It’s got the dog dish, perhaps the litter box, maybe even a pet door to the outside.   It’s something to include in your project program if you’re designing a family home and still want a nice formal entry way unsullied by kid detritus.  This was designed by Salt Lake City Architectural firm Renovation Design Group.  They specialize in home renovations.
